Director Of Communications

As Director of Communications, you will drive Percona's awareness and recognition in the market as we push forward to meet aggressive YoY growth goals. This role is critical to establishing Percona's presence as a leader in database management and performance optimization. Your world-class communications abilities will help us reach and engage our target audiences worldwide. The outcome of your ability to strategize and execute with excellence will enhance awareness of our product and our company. This role reports directly to the VP of Marketing and leads all communications efforts at Percona.

• Establish and execute a compelling PR strategy in conjunction with senior leadership across departments at Percona including product, partner, sales, community, and people
• Develop relationships and work across the organization to effectively organize and execute awareness initiatives
• Manage our PR agency relationship, strategy, and budget
• Direct the output of our external PR agency including placed articles, blog posts
• Collaborate closely with product marketing and growth marketing to create / influence original content: including editing and proofreading
• Create ongoing outreach to strengthen and develop media relationships and other opportunities to amplify Percona's brand and market recognition
• Seek new and creative ways to influence media and share the company story/direction
• Identify and prepare the best Percona spokesperson for each press opportunity, ensuring they are aligned around a unified message
• Thought leadership writing to help build company awareness across our market
• Eventually, build out a small team of communications professionals
• Report on quarterly PR results

8+ years of experience that includes PR agency and/or in-house communications roles (in-house preferred)
Experience working as an individual contributor and managing small teams at a high growth technology company
Demonstrated ability to understand and succinctly communicate the capabilities and benefits of a complex product or service
Expertise in media relationship management and track record of securing top-tier global placements
Excellent writing, communication, and storytelling skills
