The team for you to join

You will be joining the Breeding team in Perú. We all chip in when and where it is needed, have a flat structure but high standards, enjoy a good laugh and a pragmatic and operational approach to supporting our agenda. We love to learn and genuinely find our purpose and passion in Oterra.

What would your role look like?

Support activities related with sweetpotato breeding, vegetative seed production and agronomic research, germplasm maintenance, as well as train laborers to be hired in the future experimental station (April 2023 -).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Experienced Technician in Sweet Potato breeding activities, with at least 10 years of experience in same positions to perform the following functions and tasks:

  • Produce sweetpotato sexual seed under greenhouse through hand-made crosses and controlled open pollination, both using grafted plants and short-day treatment.
  • Produce sweetpotato vegetative seed through mini cuttings and root sprouts under greenhouse.
  • Monitor sweetpotato germplasm maintenance and multiplication either under greenhouse or open field.
  • Monitor sweetpotato field trials: (i) selection of new varieties, and (ii) agronomic techniques.
  • Train laborers to be hired in the future experimental station (April 2023) in activities under greenhouse.
