Usaid Project Management Specialist (Development)

DUTIES : USAID Project Management Specialists serve on a dynamic team to support U.S. foreign policy and further development in Peru and the South America Region (SAR). Development Program Specialists will use and advance their skills to strategically plan, communicate, and implement programs that support USAID/Peru’s development objectives and the SAR development portfolio. The Specialist serves as the Regional Program Office (RPO) Project Management Specialist (Project Development). The Specialist serves as a key leader in managing the project and strategy design process for the Mission. Duties include contributing to and managing all aspects of the USAID Program Cycle for the Mission, including strategic planning and research; program design and implementation; monitoring and evaluation; information management; and communications and liaison related to donor coordination, the interagency, the Government of Peru (GOP), USAID/Washington (USAID/W), and other stakeholders. The Specialist facilitates the achievement of all elements of the Program Cycle in line with USAID Automated Directives System (ADS) requirements, working closely with Mission technical teams; and advises technical teams and the RPO Director, Deputy Director, and staff on Program Cycle matters. The Specialist undertakes objective assessments and analyses, manages information, prepares plans, and coordinates information-sharing. The Specialist supports USAID/Peru in achieving its objectives by assisting in the development of technical internal and public information materials that promote a better understanding of USAID/Peru programs. The Specialist works closely with the USAID Front Office, USAID technical teams, interagency colleagues, and other RPO team members to plan, research, produce and manage written materials and other media in support of all of the Mission’s development objectives and areas of involvement; and contributes to implementing the Mission’s overall communications strategy. The Specialist also serves as an advisor and provides support and mentoring to leadership and employees of other USAID entities in the region on project and strategy design processes.

EXPERIENCE : At least five years of progressively responsible experience related to project management, strategic planning, work planning, project monitoring, grant writing, administration, and/or related field is required. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

EDUCATION : A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Business, Liberal Arts, Humanities, or related field is required.
